Immobile element plots showing compositional groups in the eastern Ambler area, which include two rhyolite types, two dacitic types and basalt. The rhyolites include massive flow-banded units, pyroclastic units and tuffaceous beds. The dacitic rocks include pyroclastic units and probable tuffs. The basalts occur are large lensoidal bodies, probably shallow sills. Some of the graphitic schists in the Ambler sequence probably represent fine-grained dacitic volcaniclasic material which accumulated in stagnant marine basins.
