The Zr/TiO2 ratio provides a more informative indicator of rock type than the Al2O3/TiO2 ratio in this terrane, as Al2O3/TiO2 ratios of mafic to dacitic rocks in island-arcs show rather limited variations. The gold occurrences are in the veined and altered dacitic and andesitic rocks.
