Highly silicifed, thinly bedded rocks in the immediate footwall of the No. 5 zone (Photo 2). In a TiO2-Zr plot, these rocks plot in the field of altered sediments, which lies at much lower TiO2 contents than the mafic volcanic rock trend shown in Photo 6 (Macdonald et al. 1996).
