Figure 16. Inferred sequence of events preceding and
following accumulation of the Fetais deposit. The massive sulfides
were deposited within a graben, on a footwall of rhyolite A and locally
rhyolite B. Within the graben, rhyolite C was laid down on top of
the sulfides in most places, followed by cherts. Where rhyolite C
pinches out laterally, the cherts directly overlies the massive sulfides.
The cherts are overlain by shales and fine-grained turbidites of the
Paraiso formation, then the Culm flysch. |
